Sorry, Kensi and Deeks, you’re going to be on overwatch duties instead of settled in at a couples retreat for the undercover assignment in NCIS: Los Angeles‘ “Getaway.” After the U.S. Treasury Department is hacked, Eric and Nell are the ones to go undercover to track a tech-savvy husband and wife linked to the crime.
And while they’re inside the couples’ retreat, Dave Flynn (remember him from the NCIS Red Team?) arrives from the NCIS cyber office in San Diego to run ops.
Watch the promo for “Getaway”:
Check out a sneak peek of Kensi and Deeks finding out they’re not the ones going undercover:
Hetty has brought Dave Flynn, now a digital forensics specialist, in for the latest case, and when he meets Eric and Nell, he tells them they’re “basically legends down at the NCIS cyber office in San Diego.” Thanks to the NSA, they know that Tara and Paul Nelson were out of town last night during Logan’s murder, on their way to a two-day couples’ retreat. And while Kensi and Deeks may already be planning their overnight undercover operation — with marshmallows! — Hetty informs them they’re not the ones going in.
Eric and Nell are the ones going to the Woodland Couples Connect, a retreat for couples to get away from their screens and reconnect in nature. The NSA wants them to stay close to the Nelsons because if they keep them in play, they might have a shot at catching their buyer.
See Eric and Nell make contact with the Nelsons:
After Genevieve, their “guide to [their] Woodland Couples Connect journey,” confiscates their phones — they’ll be charging in a supply closet and they’ll get 15 minutes with them at dinner — Eric and Nell’s chat with Paul and Tara goes so well that Tara suggests the two couples pair up when they break into groups. While their comm signals may be weakened with their phones locked away, fortunately, Eric knows how to fix that. (No help needed, Dave.)
