The music hasn’t stopped for television drama “Nashville.”
The series, which was canceled by ABC ahead of the 2016-2017 television season, has been saved and is now heading to CMT for Season 5.
On Friday, Lionsgate and ABC studios announced that CMT will be the home for the new season of “Nashville.”

“CMT heard the fans,” Brian Philips, President of CMT, said in a statement on Friday.
“‘Nashville’ is a perfect addition to our evolving line-up of big music specials, documentaries, and original series. We see our fans and ourselves in this show and we will treasure it like no other network. Nashville belongs on CMT,” his statement concluded.
Hulu will offer the new episodes of “Nashville” the day after they air on CMT.
“‘Nashville’ has long been a fan favorite show on Hulu and we are so proud to continue to make new episodes available for fans to stream the day after they air,” Hulu’s SVP and Head of Content Craig Erwich said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing even more episodes of this acclaimed series to its passionate and devoted audience.”
No details were immediately available on the Season 5 cast.
