After eulogizing the talent of Tel-Aviv based brand Marei1998, we’re onto another name in the local fashion. Enter Muslin Brothers, founded by (surprise!) siblings Tamar Levit and Yaen Levi in 2011, approaching gender and diversity in a whole new way. The collections, out twice a year, do not differentiate between genders, actively blurring the line in the middle with the creation of pieces fit for men and women alike.
Style-wise, Muslin Brothers likes and produces loose cuts, both masculine and feminine elements, and a good deal of poetry intertwined in their designs. The label also takes it all on itself when it comes to emerging properly. Creating its own showrooms, venues and even taking an interest in costume production for theater and dance companies. With an understanding of fashion that spans between art and culture, between expression and communal feeling, Muslin Brothers does a good use of the word ‘experimental’, and we like it a lot.
