Trump’s most visible spokesperson continues to disappoint.

There was a time, back during those heady campaign days when we assumed we’d be living through a second Clinton administration, that Donald Trump’s hiring of Kellyanne Conway was seen as him finally bringing an adult to the table. After all, Conway was something of a known quantity. She was a pollster who had worked on numerous campaigns. She had been a cable news talking head for years. Maybe, just maybe, she’d bring something resembling sanity to this shitshow?

Here’s an Idea: Stop Putting Kellyanne Conway on TV

NOPE! If anything, Kellyanne Conway’s addition helped push Trumpland into full on 1984 territory. This was a woman who was somewhat respected in the world of politics and suddenly she’s the one on TV giving full-throated support of Trump’s “We’ve always been at war with Eurasia” nonsense. And now in an enthusiastic rimjob of a Hollywood Reporter piece by Michael Wolff, she reveals that her boss’s egomaniacal ways have rubbed off on her. At this point, she’s not on TV to inform the American public, but rather to promote herself and pick fights.

“I’m the face of Donald Trump’s movement,” she says, with both pride and acknowledgement of her level of exposure.

She notes the patheticness of the recent social media campaign for a news program boycott of her as a guest: “I can put my shoes and panty hose back on and go on any show at any time.”

While she appears to be a figure of tremendously popular derision played by Kate McKinnon on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Conway herself may have the more incisive view of the media meaning here: “Kate McKinnon clearly sees the road to the future runs through me and not Hillary,” she says.

If Kellyanne isn’t giving insights into the President’s thinking (which she’s contradicted often) and she’s not telling the truth (“alternative facts” anyone?) then what is the purpose of putting her on TV constantly? Making her famous is not a good enough reason. Once again: Maybe the cable networks would be wise to not put Kellyanne Conway on TV.

If This Fascist Won’t Act Presidential, He Could at Least Look the Part:
