Dancing with the Stars season 24 has reached the halfway point and now the competition begins. The four obvious choices to be eliminated have all gone home and all of the remaining couples have something to offer.
It’s becoming more difficult to predict who will go home because the scores are close and a lot of the stars have good reasons to get a lot of votes.
39: Normani Kordei
38: Simone Biles
36: Nancy Kerrigan
34: Heather Morris, Nick Viall
32: Rashad Jennings
30: Bonner Bolton
29: David Ross
Normani and Simone wowed everyone with their dances of female empowerment on Disney Night and should feel safe, as should Nancy for her magical transformation into a princess.
Heather has been consistently good, but never great. Last week I said that Normani could be the talented early exit, a la Sabrina Bryan or Christina Milian (and she was in jeopardy), but now it looks like Heather could tale that honor, just as her partner Maks returns to the competition.
I’m also a little worried for Rashad. He’s been on top of the leaderboard in the past and has a real chance to win, but being in the bottom three on the leaderboard is a bad sign, as is the fact that he performed first on Disney Night with a fairly forgettable routine. It would be a shame to lose him, but it’s not impossible.
I definitely suspect that someone from Team Boy Band is going home. David and Bonner are at the bottom of the leaderboard and they’re the only two stars who have yet to receive a 9 from any of the judges. And Nick may have had a good performance on Disney Night, but he hasn’t really shined. What makes this decision so hard is that David undoubtedly has a lot of support being an everyman and a member of the Chicago Cubs while Bonner is attractive, a good, ol’ country boy and he has one of the most popular pros as his partner.
Despite the fact that Sharna has made it to the Final 5 in each of the last four seasons, I’m going to predict that Bonner and Sharna will be eliminated. I just don’t see much enthusiasm or passion for him like with some of the other stars.
