All Jennifer Lawrence was hoping for was a little sanity and compassion on Monday. But she found anything but on her Facebook account.

The “Hunger Games” star added her voice to the chorus of celebrities opposing President Trump’s travel ban — and found herself faced with an opposing choir of detractors.

“My broken heart goes out to the innocent lives of Muslim refugees that are trying to escape terror and find safety for their families,” the actress wrote. “I and millions of Americans understand that someone’s race or religion should never keep them in harm’s way.”

She added, “It should be every person’s duty to help and protect anyone no matter their nationality. I pray for sanity and compassion to return to the White House.”

A pleasant enough sentiment, perhaps — but one that was met with derision on a number of fronts.

“My broken heart goes out to the naive, uninformed celebrities that think their opinion matters to people. I pray that intelligence and logic will one day win out in Hollywood, but I won’t hold my breath,” one critic responded.

Others wondered if Lawrence would put her home where her mouth is and personally bring refugees under her wing.

“So you’ll be hosting a refugee family in one of the several houses you own? Or at least donating a few $100k to refugee assistance programs? Right????” one J-Law detractor asked.

“Please don’t get your opinions on immigration process from celebrities who live in gated communities with armed security,” another cautioned.

“Oh dear gawd … it’s NOT their race or religions that is keeping them out, it’s their home countries’ inability or unwillingness to document their identity and history, so that the US can be reasonably assured they are not coming here with evil intent, along with the fact that their home nations are seething with terrorists,” came another response.

“I wonder Jennifer if it breaks your heart when radical muslims kill innocent Americans?” another reply asked. “Ignoring the problem doesn’t make it go away honey.”

Sure, Lawrence had her supporters in the robust back-and-forth, but still — it was like she had scratched her rear-end on a sacred Hawaiian rock or something.
