If you can’t handle the heat, get off Taylor Swift’s Instagram.
That’s because the singer has finally given fans an extended look at her highly-anticipated music video with Zayn Malik for “I Don’t Want to Live Forever,” and it’s definitely a darker and sexier side of Swift that we haven’t seen since “Blank Space.” (And can you really call those gorgeous summer dresses dark?) Of course, it’s not totally surprising that the video has ominous and seductive undertones—the song was written for the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack, after all.
Swift posted the brief but entrancing clip to Instagram on the afternoon of January 25 and announced that the full video would be out the following night. In the video montage, the pop star can be seen walking down the red halls of a hotel (coughRedRoomcough) and sitting on a bed in a silky robe, while Malik emerges from a fancy car in the rain and then gets angry at some dishes. If you aren’t getting Christian Grey vibes yet, just wait. According to reports from The Sun, the two singers filmed the video at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, causing £2,500 in damages to a room. (Taylor reportedly set curtains on fire during the shoot.)
Fans have also spotted a masquerade ball mask in the clip, which could indicate that Swift and Malik’s song will provide the soundtrack for that scene in the film.
Taylor Swift has previously teased the music video with still images, posting one earlier today as well as on Zayn’s birthday. The duo completely shocked fans in early December when dropping the song without any warning. Unsurprisingly, it rocketed straight to the top of the charts, something Taylor also documented on Instagram. Malik also posted a teaser to social media on Wednesday, which sent the Internet into a tailspin.
Clearly Taylor and Zayn want us to be up all night waiting for the full music video to drop—it will hit the Internet at 12 A.M. EST on Friday. Fifty Shades Darker is released in theaters on February 10.
Until then, feel free to watch this clip on repeat.
