Ain’t no stopping them now. The Golden State Warriors entertain Californian rivals the LA Clippers in what should be a fascinating match at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Ca. on Mar. 23. It’s going to be a hell of a game you’re not going to want to miss, so click down to watch the live stream!
With Stephen Curry, recently turned 28, pulling the strings with his epic 3-point wonders, the Golden State Warriors show no signs of being beaten. Occasionally there might be the odd blip, like when they were edged out against the San Antonio Spurs on Mar. 19, but they have been more-or-less impeccable as they march towards the play offs.
The Warriors are on the verge of history, but can only afford to slip up twice if they want to beat the long-standing record of the Chicago Bulls team of 1995 that won 72 games in a regular season. So, the pressure’s on if they want to be record breakers, and of course, they are probably exhausted as we come into the tail-end of the season.
In recent weeks, the Warriors have been using Steph sparingly so he can rest his troublesome ankle, just so he can be fit for the real action when the playoffs start. Of course, this team is expected to make it to the NBA Finals so there’s still a long road ahead.
Their opponents, the LA Clippers are sitting comfortably in 4th in the Western Conference and are a sure bet for the playoffs themselves. But they’ve been losing games for fun in recent weeks, including 5 of their last 7.
The fact that they lost to rivals San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma Thunder says that perhaps their race is done and this is a team that will only go so far with the players they have and the injuries they’ve sustained after a difficult season full of scandal.
The way the Clippers are playing at the moment, with still no news on when Blake Griffin can return to action after a long injury lay off, it’s hard to see anything other than a Warriors win. But upsets do happen in basketball!
