This case is really going to hurt — the UnSub’s victims, that is, in Criminal Minds‘ “Assistance is Futile.” The BAU is after an UnSub known as the bone crusher, and a mother steps forward with valuable information to aid in their investigation. Also, Reid has to adapt to a new set of rules in prison life.

Check out a sneak peek of what the UnSub is doing to his victims:
The victim is Gigi Stevens, a 26-year-old waitress from Brooklyn. Her cause of death was loss of blood from multiple compound fractures; one tore her femoral artery. There were a few postmortem fractures as well. Like the first two victims, the tox screen showed traces of alcohol and MDMA in her system. There’s no sign of sexual assault, and it looks like breaking bones is what gets the UnSub off.
Unlike the other victims, who were abducted, killed and dumped within a two-day period, Gigi went missing a week ago, but she’s only been dead 24 hours. The UnSub held her for several days and broke her fingers and toes first, saving the big breaks for last. He’s a sadist who’s learned how to prolong his pleasure by keeping her alive. The torture has to mean something if he’s willing to risk holding her.
