Olivia Munn and Aaron Rodgers have reportedly broken up. According to People, the couple is calling it quits after nearly three years together. You know Munn from her role in The Newsroom and such movies as X-Men and Office Christmas Party. Most recently, she wrapped production on the much-anticipated Ocean’s Eight, in which she has a cameo role. Rodgers is a quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
Though there is no statement from either party, there has been little indication of trouble in paradise (for the public, at the very least) as of late. As recently as January, Munn fueled engagement rumors when she was spotted wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger. In fact, those rumors were so convincing that Munn’s mom even believed them. The actress took to Instagram to squash the gossip by posting a screenshot of a text conversation with her mom, in which she said, “Oh my gosh Mom no. You know you shouldn’t believe gossip on the internet. If I was engaged I promise you’d be like the 8th person to know. Maybe 9th. But definitely way before the internet.”
With the Instagram post, Olivia Munn addressed the larger issue with the celebrity rumor mill by writing, “Since I’m doing press for the next few days, I didn’t want to answer the same question over and over. So instead, I’m going to let my text conversation with my Asian mom help me out.”
A source told People that the couple has “amicably ended their relationship of three years,” adding that they “remain close friends and wish nothing but the best for each other moving forward.”
Perhaps the most notable rift between the two was denied by both when rumors began about Rodger’s less-than-stellar relationship with his father and brother, Jordan, who appeared on The Bachelorette. It was said that Munn may have aided in driving a stake between Rodgers and his family. That said, People reported that “Olivia will be supportive of anything that Aaron chooses to do.”
