David Lynch’s newly-revived Twin Peaks could run for at least two seasons, according to the latest rumours.

Fan site Welcome To Twin Peaks spotted a tweet from an account which tracks shooting locations in and around Los Angeles which read: “Twin Peaks is wrapping up its first 2 seasons filming on stage (Studio) here in Los Angeles the next two weeks… Yes – 2 seasons.”

Welcome To Twin Peaks notes that this account, @ForLocations, has “for the past few months… tweeted solid advance information on Twin Peaks location shoots in L.A”, which adds to its credibility. However, this particular tweet has since been deleted by @ForLocations.

David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival remains shrouded in secrecy. US premium cable network Showtime originally commissioned nine new episodes of the cult favourite, but the revival is now expected to run considerably longer. Lynch announced in April 2015 that he had pulled out of the revival series, but then announced the following month that he was back on board to direct the new episodes.

In the UK, Sky Atlantic has acquired the rights to the Twin Peaks revival series. Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, Laura Dern, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Robert Knepper and Balthazar Getty are all rumoured to have been cast as new characters alongside original cast members Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee.
