GQ Profile: With The Gifted, Wale Takes on Yet Another New Persona
The video is quite striking, in large part thanks to the mesmerizing dance moves and post-apocalyptic “Hotline Bling” vibe of the lighting. Wale carries himself with the confidence of a man who knows his next album is about to be a hit, often dancing along to his own raps with one hand in his pocket. G-Eazy also shows up for his lively guest spot, proudly proclaiming, “I got my Vans on bitch, I dress well.”
For a song called “Fashion Week,” the video is remarkably subdued, opting for a lot of tasty dark gray, black, or bright white tones. The dancers, who can best be described as very jointy, kind of steal the show with their herky-jerky moves.
For those of you waiting for Shine since Wale released its first single last May, the rapper recently released all the details about his latest album. Shine will have 14 tracks, with features from Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Major Lazer and more—though Wale’s MMG boss Rick Ross is absent. You can watch the video for “Fashion Week” right here.
