Sarah Jessica Parker, 51, has always been one to speak her mind when it comes to matters of fashion. Sarah’s 2016 Met Gala outfit choice has been getting less than favorable reviews online, and her reaction to a fashion blogger who didn’t like her outfit is priceless. In the most classy and tactful way, Sarah spoke her mind and let all the haters know who is boss!
Fashion blogger Ivy Marshall posted an Instagram pic of Sarah, Madonna, 57, and Diane Von Furstenberg, 69, with the caption, “The 2016 Met Gala Theme was ‘Manus X Machina; Fashion in the age of technology’ and this trio didn’t get the memo.” Well, Sarah just wasn’t having it, and responded in a comment on Ivy’s post.
“Got the memo. Always welcome thoughts but I’m a stickler for the theme and pay close attention to what it means. Every year with great consideration, research and conviction,” Sarah commented. Shots fired! The actress didn’t stop there, and went on to tell Ivy exactly why her outfit didn’t miss the mark. “The understanding of man and machine, how they intersect, when and why is what we considered,” she continued. “Perhaps you weren’t aware of the technology used in the details and embellishments of the design. Or perhaps you simply didn’t like what I wore which is completely fine but you can’t accuse me of not paying close attention and adhering to the theme. With respect and warmest regards, sj.”
We all heard you loud and clear, SJ! Maybe the actress was finally fed up with people misunderstanding her outfit choice at this year’s gala. She’s usually a Met Gala favorite, but this year she definitely was not favored in the eye’s of fashionista’s everywhere. This comment will warn those to come that they should tread lightly when accusing SJP of a fashion faux pas!
